Application For Membership
The Miles Greenwood Historical Fire Apparatus Society, Inc. is a group dedicated to the common goal of preserving America’s fire service heritage. We seek to do this by encouraging the preservation of original condition fire apparatus and the restoration of other apparatus. We also organize displays and competitions for antique fire apparatus, fostering good fellowship, and generally promoting the fire service. Our organization is named in honor of the first professional fire chief of Cincinnati, Ohio. We are one of 55 regional chapters of the Society for the Preservation and Appreciation of Antique Motor Fire Apparatus in America. SPAAMFAA has it’s headquarters in Syracuse, New York and has a membership of over 3,000 worldwide. SPAAMFAA members own more than 1,000 pieces of antique apparatus. While the chapters are linked with the national society as to goals, SPAAMFAA imposes no restrictions on them; each chapter governs itself and organizes its own activities. Chapter members are encouraged, but not required, to be members of SPAAMFAA. Membership is open to anyone 18 years of age or over who has interests that are in harmony with our goals. You do not have to own an antique fire engine to be a member. Membership is also open to fire departments and other historically minded organizations. The Miles Greenwood Society gives all rights of membership to these organizations, except that they must designate a representative who will vote on Society matters. Each member or organization has one vote. Dues are $12.00 per year for individuals or organizations.
