Club News:

The next Miles Greenwood meeting will be held Sunday, September 16th, 2-6pm at Chip Lytle's place in Middletown. Chip has a variety of apparatus that we will be on display. The address is 5001 Lefferson Road, Middletown, Ohio 45044. Take Exit 32 (Middletown/Route 122) off I-75. Go west on Rt. 122. Turn left onto Dixie Highway (AKA Cincinnati-Dayton Rd & Main St). Proceed south on Dixie Hwy. Turn right on to Lefferson. Look for old fire trucks and pull into the driveway.

The September business meeting will be held during the picnic. All MG members and their families are invited. Please bring a covered dish, your own beverage, and a chair if you like. Chip says fire trucks are welcome and visitors may arrive early and stay late if they like!

The 4th Annual 9-11 Memorial Motorcycle Ride takes place Saturday, September 8th. The event kicks off at the Cincinnati Fire Museum (315 W Court Street) at 11:30am and ends at the Cincinnati Harley Davidson Store (1799 Tennessee Avenue). Once again, the Miles Greenwood Chapter has been invited to display our fire apparatus at the Harley Davidson Dealership from noon until 5pm. There will be food and live music. Please contact Mark Radtke if you can bring your rig. The event benefits The Cincinnati Fire Museum and the Warthogs Police & Fireman Memorial Fund and is always a fun opportunity to share your fire truck with the public. If you don't have a truck or a motorcycle, come on down anyway to visit!

Mt Healthy's Fire and Police Departments, along with Arlington Memorial Gardens, will host the third annual Patriots' Day parade at 2 pm on Sunday, September 9th. The parade begins on McMakin Avenue at the Mount Healthy city building, heads south on Hamilton and then west on Compton, ending with a program at Arlington. Brett Cunningham, a member of the FEMA team that responded to the 9/11 crisis for several weeks, will be the featured speaker. A flag raising and 21-gun salute will round out the program. Contact Nick Placke for information.

For the October 16th Miles Greenwood meeting, we will be traveling to Wilder KY South fire station. It is located off of Route 9 (AA Highway), south of I-275. Directions, coming from Ohio, are west on I-275 to the Wilder exit, Route 9. Turn right (south) onto the AA Highway. Travel south 4 traffic lights, to Gloria Terrell Drive (Waffle House and McDonald's will be on the left corner). TURN RIGHT onto Gloria Terrell Drive. Go about 500 feet, just beyond the Shell station, and turn left. You should see the station. Parking is around the back of the station. For those coming from I-75 and I-71, get to I-471 and head south to west I-275. Follow directions above.
