Club News:
The next Miles Greenwood meeting will be held Tuesday,
August 21, at 7:30pm at the Wyoming Ohio Fire Station, 600
Grove Avenue near Wyoming Avenue. The fire station is
behind Sturkeys Restaurant (now Encore Bistro and Bar).
Parking is across the street in the public arts lot. Use
the front public entrance to the Safety Service Building.
Central Ohio Muster coins will be available to the first 20
members in attendance at the August meeting in Wyoming.
This is the coin that was given out at the 2006 SPAAMFAA
National Convention held in Columbus.
The Club welcomes two new members, Gary Kleinfelter from
Maineville and Brodie Cianciolo from Norwood. Great to have
you along gentlemen!
The 4th Annual 9-11 Memorial Motorcycle Ride takes place on
Saturday, September 8th. The event kicks off at the
Cincinnati Fire Museum (315 W Court Street) at 11:30am and
ends at the Cincinnati Harley Davidson Store (1799
Tennessee Avenue). Once again, the Miles Greenwood Chapter
has been invited to display our fire apparatus at the
Harley Davidson Dealership from noon until 5pm. There will
be food and live music. Please contact Mark Radtke if you
can bring your rig. The event benefits The Cincinnati Fire
Museum and the Warthogs Police & Fireman Memorial Fund and
is always a fun opportunity to share your fire truck with
the public. If you dont have a truck or a motorcycle, come
on down anyway to visit!
Congratulations to the Miami Valley Chapter for hosting
another wonderful muster in Germantown last month. There
was a tremendous variety of fire apparatus from around the
area on display and plenty of enthusiastic people to talk
with.
Save the date! The Miles Greenwood club picnic is scheduled
for Sunday, September 16th at Chip Lytles place in
Middletown (Blueball), Ohio. Chip has a variety of
apparatus that we will be on display. The address is 5001
Lefferson Road Middletown, Ohio 45044. Take Exit 32
(Middletown/Route 122) off I-75. Go west on Rt. 122. Turn
left onto Dixie Highway (aka Cincinnati-Dayton Rd & Main
St). Proceed south on Dixie Hwy. Turn right on to
Lefferson. Look for old fire trucks and pull into the
driveway. The September business meeting will be held
during the picnic. All MG members and their families are
invited. Please bring a covered dish, your own beverage,
and a chair if you like.
Our webmaster Bill Strite is always looking for material

Wanted:
My husband is restoring a 1929 (rebuilt in 1935) Stutz fire
engine that was used in Arnold, Pennsylvania. I would like
the patches, badges or whatever decorations would be seen
on a uniform for a chief in that town of that era. Any
information you can provide will be appreciated. Thanks.

March 02, 2007 - I am restoring the 1st fire truck
our department purchased in 1951. I have located all the
parts that have been lost over the last 55 years except for
three Hardie nozzle brackets (see attached picture). Is
there any chance you could share my search request with you
members to assist us with the parts? We are willing to
purchase the brackets once they can be located. We have
been searching locally for several years without luck. Here
is the link to our fire truck web site:

for your time with this important matter. Sincerely, Bill

MACK motor wanted: I am looking for a ENF510A motor in running condition that I can put into my chassis. I would prefer a running motor but will consider one that is not running if it has minor problems and can be repaired quickly. I will also consider other Mack motors such as a 707 or END510 if it is running and it only needs to be installed. Will pay cash and can pick up in the Eastern US, I can also make arrangements to have it picked up if it to far for me to drive. Contact: David at latigo@bellsouth.net. (3/29/2007)
